About Dunsborough Primary School

With our well-developed facilities, bush boundaries and numerous trees and our elevated position overlooking Geographe Bay, Dunsborough Primary School is one of the most desirable locations of any primary school in Western Australia.

We are a school that has all the amenities of a modern urban school but retains a unique “rural” feel.

Our school motto of “Together Everyone Achieves More” reflects the importance our school community places on teachers, parents and students all working together to achieve the best possible outcomes we can.

Dunsborough Primary School has built up an excellent reputation in the Busselton area for strong academic performance, high standards of pastoral care and developing effective relations within the local community.

Dunsborough Primary School is an Independent Public School located in one of Western Australia’s premier holiday locations, 240 km south of Perth.

As an Independent Public School, Dunsborough Primary is committed to providing a high quality education for every one of our 800 students from Kindergarten to year 6. (Ages 4 - 12), offering specialist programs in Music, Drama, Visual Arts, Physical Education and Japanese (LOTE – Languages Other Than English) .

Dunsborough Primary School performs strongly in NAPLAN testing and achieves results in Literacy and Numeracy at or above ‘like schools’ (schools with similar socioeconomic demographics) and well above state and national averages.

The school takes advantage of its excellent facilities, supported by modern technologies and resources, to provide a quality education for children.

The support of parents and local businesses is strong.

In partnership with the school’s Parents and Citizens Association, parent help is provided on a regular basis both in and out of the classroom. The P&C also redirects the proceeds from its uniform shop, canteen and general fund raising activities to purchasing additional resources, services and equipment for students to use.

Dunsborough Primary School has experienced staffs that are committed to achieving the school’s vision and providing a high standard of education for all students.

Dunsborough Primary School’s Business Plan 2017 – 2019 outlines the school’s priorities for improvement over the next three years. Four key focus areas have been identified as being critical to the school building on and maintaining its mission of being a high performing school, with every teacher an effective teacher and every student a successful student.
